If a poster violates the rules of Xena Online Community, a moderator will typically respond with an admonishment and no further action will be taken if the poster desists from further conduct of this nature. However, a more serious offense (or repeated minor infractions) will result in a reprimand or, in especially serious cases, a warning. A member will be banned from the board if he or she:

* already has two warnings and is issued a third;

or

* already has five reprimands and is issued a sixth;

or

* has two warnings and a reprimand and is issued another reprimand;

or

* has one warning and three reprimands and is issued another reprimand or warning;

or

*has one warning and two reprimands and is issued another warning.

In other words, in terms of penalties accumulated toward a ban, a reprimand amounts to "half a warning."

Whether an offender will be given a reprimand or a full warning will depend on the circumstances -- for instance, whether an insulting comment to another poster was made in the heat of an argument or completely unprovoked.

The XOC reserves the right to ban a member immediately (without warning) for any of the following offenses:

Trolling or spamming (see board rules for definitions);

Flaming or bashing (see board rules for definitions) or committing another serious violation of forum rules, and refusing to apologize;

Using multiple handles without the knowledge of the moderators/administrators.

Also, XOC reserves the right to deny membership to an applicant on the basis of his or her known behavior (e.g. trolling or flaming) at other boards, or to pre-emptively ban EZboard handles on this basis.
