Trancegem and I will be hosting several contests throughout the year for all XOCers, in the months of August, November, February and May - 3 months apart. As some may know there are already contests in the ASG, but we are hoping these will not interfere too much with those. As an added bonus, we may have a grand final where anyone who's gotten 1st in any section for all months will run for the title of 'Best Art of the Year'.
In these contests there will be two sections, one will be "formal" and the other "informal". In each of the contests, we will state what the formal medium will be, under which will be a number of different sections, such as different ships, or themes. Also in the informal all other types of art will go under the same categories as the formal section, however this section will be expecting other mediums such as graphics, fan fiction, lols, icons, etc.
Members can only enter one entry for each section, e.g. a graphic for "Despair" and "Elation", but they can not enter two graphics for "Despair"/"Elation". This is the same for the informal section.
Each contest will last for a month, at the end of the month all entries will be put into a poll and voted by other members of the XOC, meaning everyone can enter.
As these the name of the award states i.e. "The Golden Chakram" Art Awards 09-10, every piece regardless of the medium, has to have been made between January 2009-May 2010, and older pieces will not be entered.
This month's formal section will be: GRAPHICS.
This month's themes are:
Despair
Hope
Elation
Character-based art
The timeline for the month will be as follows:
1st: Announcement of sections and start of challenge.
22nd: Closing date for entries at 2359 PST.
23rd: Polls start.
30th/31st: Polls end and winner is announced!
All times will follow PST.
Those who get 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each section will get a banner which they can display where they see fit. There may be additional prizes, of which details will be given at a later date.
