I really never grew out of that cartoon phase of my childhood and I still adore most kinds of cartoons and animation. So do you enjoy cartoons? If so which ones do you watch? Do you stick to "adult cartoons" or do you still get a kick out of the ones aimed at a younger audience? What were your childhood favourites? Lets talk about cartoons, and pictures and recommendations are very welcomed. Not as much as when I was younger, I will admit, though. Gone are the days of the classic 90s cartoons. They just don't make 'em like they used to. I liked all the classic kids TV shows of the 90s, I'm sure there is a list I made somehwere in the Entertainment forum....I won't bore you with it again. Anyway, nowadays I mainly watch the 'adult' cartoons, my favourite being Family Guy. Infact, thinking about it.........I don't really even watch The Simpsons anymore. It's lost it's magic, for me, and just is a different kind of 'funny', which doesn't appeal to me. Actually....Family Guy is the only one I really watch! I don't watch American Dad or anything, nor Futurama or anything else like King Of The Hill or whatever. I do occasionally switch on the kids cartoons though. Ones I still like to watch - WITH NO SHAME - are: Tom and Jerry Looney Toons Arthur Hey, Arnold! Dexter's Lab The Powerpuff Girls Spongebob Squarepants So, yes, I am a big kid at heart - I wish they made cartoons like they used to. I like Looney Toons and Spongebob Squarepants a lot, but my favourite cartoon is Justice League of America! I like superheroes, what can I say?! Three Star General Posts: 2181 (06/18/09 12:30 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Most of the classic superhero cartoons - Spiderman, Superman, Batman Scooby-Doo Droopy, Master detective (I kinda want to be Droopy when I grow up) Spongebob Looney tunes (me luvz Tweety) Tom & Jerry And the older favorites: Gummi Bears Care Bears (yes, I've had mushy periods, so what ;p) Nu, Pogodi (You just wait) - Russian animated series, similar to Tom & Jerry, but with wolf and hare as main characters. Such an incredibly fun show, it really is made for those of us growing up with the adventure cartoons and who grew up to be proper geeks. Plus I have a crush on Dr Girlfriend (the voice, such a sweet sweet voice) and I'm totally shipping Monarch/Dr Girlfriend. Nah, but seriously I can't begin to describe how awesome this show is, but it is. Any show that can reference Scooby-Doo, Star Wars and David Bowie in equal amounts automatically have my love, plus Patrick Warburton makes one of the voices. Then the shows planting the seed would have been Scooby-Doo (my first love), Jonny Quest, Thundercats, Biker Mice from Mars, James Bond Jr., Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Then there are a few none "adventure" cartoons such as Spongebob, Ducktales, Tiny Toon, Real Monsters, Freakazoid, Tailspin, Darkwing Duck. Oh yeah and all those classical ones like Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc. I'm now thinking of giving Harvey Birdman a chance, the little of it I've seen looks kinda amazing. ETA: I totally forgot about another childhood favourite, next to Scooby-Doo the Raggy Dolls was my absolute favourite. The theme totally hit home even when I was 5. I recently had a discussion about it with a friend and it would be all kinds of interesting to take it apart academically, both from a gender pov but also to add racial matters to the dissection. Would be even more fun to set it into a French contemporary (of when it was created) perspective. I wonder if someone's done that already, cause I sure would like to read it. While we're speaking of the French, anyone saw Babar? For some reason I want to cry as I watch the intro and I can't remember why, I think there was something about his mother being killed or something. I recommend the "S" season, especially for the Haruka & Michiru relationship.

I can still remember the illustration showing her lying on her side with a spear sticking out of her and blood coming out.
