There seems to be two distinct camps in response to Twilight and I find it very interesting. For whatever reason, the reaction to these books and movies are very intense for either positive or negative.

I'm curious as to why.

I don't recall there being a reaction like this when we had another highly popular, highly trendy Vampire series - Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

With Buffy, either people loved it or ignored it. But with the Twilight series people seem to have a very strong reaction pro or against the books, movies and even the FANDOM.

Why is that?

I'm making two threads - Why I hate it and Why I love it. So, if you feel one way, please don't cross over into the other thread and defend your position. Just let those who dislike be in one thread and let the ones who like exist in the other.

I don't want to start any fights, I just want to find out why people feel the way they do. It's out of sheer curiousity.
