Voldemort vs Darth Vadar? |

We had this discussion at school today, and it was quite an interesting one. If Voldemort was to go up against Darth Vadar, who would win? Could Darth just
reflect any spell Voldy through at him? How could Voldemort win?
thoughts?

Vader all the way. Voldemort's one of the wussiest villains ever IMO, and I doubt spells would be any match for the Force.

I heard the people on Potterfic Weekly talking about Voldemort as a lame villain too, but I have to disagree with them. Voldemort was really scary. He had this obsession with being immortal, and he didn't care who got in his way, and he had just enough of the Pure-Blood philosophy to attract followers. I think there would really be no other way except for Vader and Voldemort to kill each other. Neither would yield, and both had enough energy after receiving fatal wounds to deal enough damage to the other. Let's see. Some things would cancel each other out. Imperio is about equivalent to the Dark Side mind-control, for example. I think a lightsaber would cut a wand in half (which would make for an interesting rest of the battle), but Voldemort could call up a basilisk. Vader is faster, and able to do more damage from a distance, but I think there are a whole host of things Voldemort could do to keep Vader away, and since I"m sure Vader couldn't figure out the Horcruxes, he'd find out something was wrong when he tried to kill Voldemort. I think he could use the Force to get rid of them, though...so again, I think they'd kill each other.

Are there other basilisks besides the one that lived in the Chamber of Secrets?
The way Voldemort was defeated in Deathly Hallows makes me think Vader could easily take him out. That's my main reason for finding him lame. ETA: Duh, obviously, there are other basilisks. I'm still inclined to think Vader would win, though.

To be fair, all Vader would have to do is de-wand Voldemort and he'd have him owned. Just saying.

all good points! i was initially on the side of Voldemort, but now i think Vadar might be the victor; and its true without a wand, Darth would own Voldymort.
although maybe it would be a standstill through death

still, it could be amuisng if Voldy could slip an imperius curse on Vader. Imagine Darth Vader doing the macarena or...picking daisies...doing a puppet show

Well you know these are my two favourite (non Xena) series. I can't choose, because there is good in Darth Vader... yet there is no good in Voldemort. The
question is does the good person always come out on top or not?

Ooooh, that's fascinating, Everhope. You're right. Voldemort had systematically killed the good in himself, while Anakin more...just went down that
road, still responsible for not stopping it, but not deliberately. So I'll root for Vader to win because Vader's redeemable.
I think the initial battle would come down to whether Voldemort could put the Imperius curse on Vader before Vader could cut off Voldemort's wand hand (or vice versa). Beyond that...I have no clue, and no, I don't think there was more than one basilisk (my bad). It might be interesting to get Nagini in the fight, though. We should set this up as a poll!

Ahh but there is Voldemort's use of occlumency could that overpower the force? I'm still not sure, I'd like to think that Darth Vader could win,
but aside from the force and a saber.. Voldemort seems to have a greater number of different skills to use against his opponent. Anything that Darth Vader cast
at him, Voldemort could probably wave away with his wand.
Oh god this is tearing my my Star War/Hp loving heart apart...
