One day while watching Seeds of Faith I was observing the fight between Ares and Gabrielle extra carefully. This made me realize something I hadn't before. When Gabrielle picked up Ares' sword from the ground and he went down to her, he grabbed her arm and pushed the sword into a man nearby. It looked like he deliberately did that while she was holding onto the sword.

What was the significance of this? Was Ares already 2 moves ahead? Did he already have the plan of...

I was watching "The Quill Is Mightier" today, and one of Ares lines made me think. In response to Gabrielle's powers with the scroll he horrified exclaims "You gave this blonde harpie powers of destiny?" to Aphrodite. What does it mean? What are the powers of destiny and why did Ares think Gabrielle had them?

Because I was in that mood I attributed it to possible prophetic G/A...

One Odd Xena Xmas Dream!!

I'm not sure where the heck was going on to make me dream this.

Anyways, I was having an interesting dream actually about Xena, Gabrielle, and Joxer (for me, I was like the cameraman) and it was a holiday/Solstice special, looked to be set in Season 2 or 3 judging by Gabby's long hair and clothing, and her and Joxer were together.

The weird thing was that Joxer was not played by Ted Raimi, but by.....BRANDON ROUTH (Superman Returns)! LOL!! He was even acting like...

I always thought this was a bit of interesting advice Xena gave to Solan, and you can clearly tell how proud she was when he said that he was too scared to freeze.

It could have been great continuity if we had seen her give the same advice later on to another character.

Anyway, what did you think of this advice?

During the motherhood Commentary I mentioned that over at TX Subtext Central there is a thread with What if....? questions. One of the most thought provoking questions that I have now shamlessly lifted was:

What if........Ares only saved Eve and not Gabrielle. Could Xena have lived with the fact that she had killed Gabrielle?

Now you can use that question and assume that Ares couldn't/didn't want to/was unable to save Gabrielle....

H'anyway, my nephew and I were sittin' around, acting bored, and I told Dorian that I had Xena christmas songs. Inspired by the favorite fight scene thread, I wanted to give props to the many other characters of the Xenaverse.

So what's your favorite fight scene that didn't involve either Xena or Gabrielle? Mine would have to be Callisto vs. Velasca on the rope bridge as two new gods. I thought that rocked. Scenes like that are what I love about the fantasy genre.
